• The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIT Roorkee, achieved notable recognition at the 39th IEEE VLSI Design and 25th Embedded Systems Conference (VLSID 2026), one of the most prestigious platforms for semiconductor and system design innovation. Amandeep Singh, Dr. Anu Verma, Anshul Verma won the Best Digital IC Tapeout Award – VLSID 2026 under the guidance of Prof. Bishnu Das Prasad, while Dr. Dinesh Kushwaha received the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award – VLSID 2026 under the supervision of Prof. Sudeb Das Gupta and Prof. Anand Bulusu.

• Prof. Gaurav Sharma (B.E. E&C, 1990), now a Professor at the University of Rochester, visited IIT Roorkee on 25th November 2025 and received the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) 2024 for his contributions to image processing, data science, and computational imaging. • Chip C2S0024, designed by Prof. Saravana Kumar M, was developed under the Semicon India initiative at the Analog & Mixed Signal Circuit Design Lab, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIT Roorkee. The chip integrates key analog building blocks—including bandgap references, ring and relaxation oscillators, and comparators—alongside various devices, to extract data and evaluate circuit performance at cryogenic temperatures.
